What does this mean?
You may receive an error that says "Special Order: part cannot be ordered at this time" after clicking add to cart on certain WorldPac parts.
This mean that the part is currently unavailable to purchase.
Why does this happen?
This happens because of how WorldPac's system sends availability information. Sometimes WorldPac's system shows local availability when in reality the parts are NOT available at the local store but instead are available further up the supply chain as a special order. It's only when you add the part to your cart that WorldPac's system displays this message.
When you add the part to cart, PartsTech is able to check local inventory at the servicing store. This takes a couple seconds. If the part is currently unavailable for purchase at that location you will receive this special order message.
Normally this only happens with uncommon parts. If this you're receiving this error regularly, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
What should I do now?
- Try ordering a different part.
- Call your servicing store and have them special order the part.
How do I avoid this issue going forward?
Until WorldPac releases a fix to this issue you can do the following.
- Check delivery times before adding the part to the cart: Sometimes parts that are special order will display a much longer delivery time than normal.
