Getting Credentials For NAPA Online Ordering. (PROlink Method)
In order to buy from NAPA on PartsTech you’ll need the following information:
- TAMS Password
- Address of your servicing NAPA Location -OR- 10 digit NAPA Store ID
Your TAMS Password is what NAPA uses to display your wholesale pricing and invoice your commercial account. If you’ve ordered online from NAPA before you may already have a TAMS Password associated with your account, if not here’s how to get one. First, you’ll have to create a PROlink account. If you already have a PROlink account & PROlink ID skip to step 2.
Step 1: Create A PROlink Account.
Open your web browser and navigate to https://www.napaprolink.com/. Click on the “REGISTER” button (highlighted below). Once you create an account you will be given a PROlink ID. Write this down and keep it in a safe place. You’ll need it for the next step.
Step 2: Provide Your NAPA Store Manager With Your PROlink ID & These Instructions.
This next step requires your NAPA store manager to configure your account for online ordering in their TAMS system.
Send your NAPA Store Manager the following:
- Your 10 Digit PROlink ID
- These Instructions.
The NAPA Store Manager can provide you with the following:
- Your TAMS Password
- Their 10 digit NAPA Store ID
Pass this information on to your PartsTech Rep.
Instructions for NAPA Store Manager:
Creating a TAMS Password / Enabling Online Ordering For a Customer.
Step 1: First go into your TAMS system and open the “Phone Numbers” Menu (pictured below)
Step 2: Enter the PROlink ID Into the Customer’s Phone File.
Enter the customers 10 digit PROLink ID into the customer’s Phone File on the TAMS System.
Step 3: Create A New Phone File -OR- Pull Up The Customers Existing Phone File.
Step 4: Enter/Use The Following Settings.
- User Category must be Dealer
- Enter the Customer Number to Invoice (AR Number)
- Enter a Password -or- leave this field blank.
- Enter a Name
- Check the box Display On-Hand Details
- Access Type must be Dealer
- Check the box Allow DC Stock Check
- Enter the customer’s PROLink ID
- Click Save
Step 5: Add a Communication Access Number Record If Needed
If you receive an error that says “This record cannot be saved without at least one Communication Access Number record” You will need to add a New Access # Click the button to add a New Access # Highlighted in red below. This can be the customer’s phone number. Leave the IP Address Field blank
Provide The Customer With the Following Info:
Once you click save, the User Password field will appear. This is the customer’s TAMS Password. They will need this to configure their NAPA account on PartsTech.
Provide your customer with the Store ID Number Highlighted in green and the TAMS Password Highlighted in red.
